If you’re in Lisbon, why not visit Porto, Portugal’s second city? Porto is a 30-minute flight from the Portuguese capital city. You can fly out early in the morning, see the main sights (don’t forget to visit to the port wine lodges and have a wine tasting), and fly back to Lisbon the same evening. Or you can stay one or more nights and enjoy the city.
You can fly with Ryanair and get airfares from €20 return, which are hard to resist.
There are three daily flights between the two cities departing from Lisbon at 7.55am, 12.35pm and 7.55pm, and from Porto at 6.30am, 1.55pm and 9.15pm.
Lisbon airport is conveniently located in the city, and Porto’s is only 13km from the main attractions (about 30 minutes by metro).
