With the fall season, airlines lower their fares significantly as things get quieter on transatlantic flights.
Given that the weather in Portugal is still very nice in September, October and beyond, this may be an opportunity to visit Lisbon and Porto.
The Portuguese airline TAP Portugal is announcing deals on nonstop flights from the United States to Lisbon and Porto in Portugal starting at $260 one way.
On their website, they are promoting two kinds of deals: top deals that let you book now to fly latter and get the lowest fare, and quick getaways if you want to travel this week (of course you also pay considerably more).

Best days of the week to fly to Europe
Weekdays are generally cheaper than weekends for flying to Europe (but not always, so be sure to compare fares for different days).
As always, airfares change without notice so prices shown here may have gone up (or down) in the past few days. However, generally you can find better deals by flying in September and beyond, rather than in the summer months of July and August.
