Enjoy a live Fado show, the musical expression of Lisbon’s melancholic soul – a mix of nostalgia (saudade), hope, pride and conformism.
Fado in Chiado is a performance featuring two young fadistas (fado singers) accompanied by two guitarists, playing classic and Portuguese guitars.
The show includes several performances offering a complete overview of the different fado styles (fado tradicional, fado menor, fado canção and fado popular).
Food is not included. But there are several excellent restaurants in Chiado and Bairro Alto that you can enjoy after the show. If you loved the song, how about a full fado and dinner experience? Check out some of the best fado restaurants in Bairro Alto.
Fado in Chiado is held at the small venue Sala de concertos, Teatro de Artes Cénicas. The show received the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor in 2013, one of the most popular travel sites in the world.
