The weather in Lisbon in February remains cold and wet, although not as cold and wet as in January.

It is still winter in Lisbon at this time of year, but you may also enjoy bright, sunny weather during your visit.

Layers are key in Lisbon during February. A mid-weight jacket (or a coat) will be enough on dry days. Pack some warm sweaters that you may take off if the sun peeks out and put back on when it goes away. If rain is forecast, bring a waterproof jacket or an umbrella. You may want to wear a scarf on cooler mornings and nights.

On Mardi Gras the Carnival parades fill the streets of Torres Vedras and the resort town of Sesimbra, both less than one hour away from Lisbon, with samba music and Brazilian costumes. Some bars and nightclubs in Lisbon also organize Carnival parties.
