Layers are key in Lisbon during February. A mid-weight jacket (or a coat) will be enough on dry days. Pack some warm sweaters that you may take off if the sun peeks out and put back on when it goes away. If rain is predicted, bring a waterproof jacket or an umbrella. You may want to wear a scarf on cooler mornings and nights.

- Valentine’s Day: there is no better place to spend a weekend around 14 February. Impress your loved one with romantic hotels and rooftop restaurants in Lisbon offering stunning views of the cityscape and the river Tejo.
- Carnival: on Mardi Gras the Carnival parades fill the streets of Torres Vedras and the beach town of Sesimbra, both less than one hour away from Lisbon, with samba music and Brazilian costumes. Some bars and nightclubs in Lisbon also organize Carnival parties.
