The list of starred restaurants in Portugal has just been updated, and the winning restaurants announced. With Antiqvvm in Porto promoted, there are currently eight Portuguese restaurants boasting two Michelin star status.
Of course, not all restaurants are able to achieve Michelin excellence. Still, 31 restaurants in Portugal were considered “very good restaurants”, being awarded one star in the 2024 edition, including four new additions.
Two of the new additions can be visited in Lisbon – 2Monkeys and SÁLA. Further north, in Santarém, Ó Balcão has also received its first star. And in Funchal, the capital of the island of Madeira, Desarma restaurant has also been recognised in the Michelin ranking.
We’ve rounded up all of the restaurants here. You can find thirteen of them in Lisbon, and the remaining outside of the capital’s borders, including a few in the sunny Algarve, some other in Portugal’s second largest city Porto, and scattered across the country, not forgetting the islands.
