A musical with a cast of 40 artists, including actors and dancers, will be opening the Palco Mundo for the five-day period of the 2016 edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa. The show will take festival-goers on a 30-year journey through the history of Rock in Rio Brazil, Portugal, Spain and the United States.
Bruce Springsteen is the headliner of the festival’s first day, 19 May. This is not Bruce Springsteen’s first appearance in Rock in Rio Lisboa. The singer performed in the 2012 edition, and in 2014 he sang a surprise duet with The Rolling Stones. The Welsh rock band Stereophonics and the Portuguese band Xutos & Pontapés will also perform on this day.
Equally confirmed are Mika and Fergie who wil play on 20 May, the same day as Queen + Adam Lambert. The Brazilian singer, Ivete Sangalo, will perform on 28 May alongside Maroon 5.
Concerts will take place on Palco Mundo, while Tenda Eletrónica will receive world renowned DJ’s e VJ’s, and the Hot Stage will be reserved for performances by alternative artists and new talents.
During the day, the City of Rock will become a park for families. At Espaço Radical, the most adventurous will have a chance to snowboard on a real snow slope, while Espaço Kids will offer several activities for children.
