Lisbon’s Design Museum Reopens

Lisbon’s Design Museum MUDE reopens with free entry until Sunday, 28 July.

From 25 July through 31 October, the museum shows itself with Building on Exhibition – the building as museological contents. 16 installations talk about the architecture, evolution and changes that the historic building has undergone throughout its history.

The visit to this 8-storey historic building starts on the underground floor with archeological findings going back to the Roman period. Going up, the 3rd floor will hold the long-term exhibition room from October 2024.

The floor below has the Auditorium and the museum cafeteria, two spaces worth admiring as both were designed in 1991 by the notable Portuguese architect and designer António Garcia.

The visit culminates on the top terrace offering a 360-degree view of the Baixa with its rooftops, Rua Augusta Arch and the São Jorge Castle hill.
